About Scott

Scott was born and raised in the Kansas City Metro Area until 1982, which is only one of the reasons why he is a HUGE Kansas Jayhawks Basketball Fan.  His family then moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and his life would never be the same after attending Balch Springs Christian Academy, where he was introduced to Jesus Christ in that same year by Dr. John Carbaugh.  During his time at Balch Springs, Bro. Richard Koons served as his youth pastor, setting the foundation for a lifelong friendship that would later lead him here to Calvary First Baptist Church.

Scott graduated high school from BSCA in 1988.  He then attended ITT Technical College, earning an Associate of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and Technology.  While attending FBC Forney, under the prompting of his pastor, Dr. Jimmy Pritchard, Scott was encouraged to take bible classes at Criswell College in order to further pursue his passion for serving in various ministries involving children, youth, and even married couples through the Re-Engage Ministry.

Scott was married to Angela in 1996 and they have served the Lord, side-by-side since 1998.  Throughout the years, they have enjoyed raising two wonderful children, Shelby and Travis, both of whom are now grown and have children of their own.  In recent years, they have had bestowed upon them the awesome privilege of being called Pop Pop and NaNa by their three favorite people, their grandchildren, Jaxson, Michael, and Amelia.

Some of Scott and Angela’s’ favorite memories in ministry have been made while serving with children and youth groups at VBS, church camp, DNOW weekends, lock-ins and other various youth events, weeks of VBS, and even a bus ministry.

Scott’s mantra and one main goal for his life is to take as many people with him as he possibly can when he goes to heaven one day.
