About Richard

Originally from Orlando, Florida, Richard Koons brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to his role as Co-Pastor. Richard holds two Bachelor of Science degrees in Education from Louisiana Baptist University and met his wife, Lavonda, while attending Arlington Baptist University. Together, they form a dynamic team dedicated to serving Christ.

Throughout his ministry career, Richard has held various leadership positions, including Student Pastor, Executive Pastor, Lead Pastor, and Vice-President of Student Affairs. Known for his effective communication skills, Richard has a unique ability to blend humor and real-life experiences to convey the timeless principles of the Bible.

Richard and Lavonda founded E3 Ministries, an organization devoted to educating, empowering, and encouraging people. Their dedication to this ministry highlights their passion for uplifting and guiding others in their spiritual journeys.

The Koons family is blessed with one daughter, Brooke, a son-in-law, Sean, and three wonderful grandchildren: Zachary, Carolyn, and Eli. Richard enjoys reading biographies, playing golf, and cherishing time with his family. His guiding belief, “If you are breathing, you have hope,” reflects his optimistic and faith-filled outlook on life.
